As one of the commenters to the blog post points out, the free online Maven book from SonaType makes complaints like this obsolete: http://books.sonatype.com/maven-book/ -1
No it doesn't. This one issue was covered in the book (but strangely hard to find with Google), yet Maven, the "project comprehension tool" is impossible to comprehend.
