Remember the good ol’ days when Java Developer’s Journal was an actual printed magazine? Wow, have things ever changed at “The World’s Leading Java Resource”

Guess you've never heard of Adblock Plus for Firefox.
I'm not defending that horribly designed site, just pointing out that ads can be canned.

It's not just the ads, most of which can be blocked, it's just such an unattractive site, tiny fonts, poor layout, dull color scheme, etc.

Even worse, the quality of the content has been declining over the years (both print and online).
The worst pain is when Dr Dobbs started declining. It used to be a great magazine for developers. Now, its just more trash and hype like all the rest of the rags.
