Marc Fleury wrote a readworthy Blue Paper "Why I Love EJBs" in 2002, which for that time was really surprising. I was already working with EJBs at the time, but didn't really love them much :-). I wouldn't go quite as far as saying "love" now either, but I really like EJB 3.0. The reasons are listed here.
