Last week, I joined what must be millions of other technology nerds (if my Twitter and Facebook friends are any indication) in getting rid of my iPhone 3G* in favor of an Android-based phone. Why on earth would I do such a thing? Aren't iPhones basically the best smartphones on the market? Increasingly, I'm not sure that's the case. Besides, it's not simply about overall phone quality.

Is fascinating to see how quickly Apple went from being a cool company we loved and respected for its innovation and products to a company that we now harbor feelings of contempt for.

Yet Apple decided to declare war against its developers and Steve decided to take his dislike of Adobe out on his customer base.

With customer abandonment catching on as the new resistance movement against the seriously un-hip, the fruited company is going to be reaping what it has sown. Of course it doesn't hurt that Android Froyo makes for a very attractive alternative to abandon Apple iPhone for.
