If you look back over the history of programming languages, surprisingly few new features have been added in the past four decades. Even the most exciting features of modern dynamic languages existed in early languages such as Lisp and Smalltalk. Certainly, the features have been combined in different ways, and there’s progress in the implementation details or interface, but truly new ideas are in short supply.

Im waiting for the official release of Perl 6 and Parrot. Also it will be great to run Python on Parrot too. Parrot is important because is an alternative to the JVM or CLR to run dynamic languages.

Have you ever looked at Rebol ? Unfortunately marketing cost is huge so it is not well known.
See http://rebol.com and
http://reboltutorial.com

For example to send an email to a friend, type

send johndoe@yahoo.com "Hello my friend"

it's mostly english.

What if you want to send to a list of friends ? Put list in brackets:

send [ johndoe@yahoo.com jaimie@yahoo.com ] "Hello my friends"

Try to do that in other languages it's impossible in one line
