I bet there is not a child alive today who dreams of being a project manager. Maybe a firefighter, a rock star or an astronaut, but not a PM. There is something inherently dull about the words “project” and “manager”. Even the flames of the bright imagination would smolder out in their presence. And it follows that in professional ranks, saying you are a project manager won’t get you much respect either.

Seriously? Comparing corporate project management to the planning of the D-Day invasion? Just because 2 things require planning, that does not make them the same at all. Also, nobody has a problem with project managers... just *bad* project managers. The ones who *do* take the credit for everything while performing so poorly at their task that politics is the only reason they're in the position they're in. I suppose if you're a project manager wondering whether or not you should go dancing on a freeway, this will give you the warm and fuzzy feeling to think reconsider, but there are some sweeping generalizations that didn't sit well.
