Wicket is a very different world from most other web frameworks. It is unmanaged and object-oriented - something that is (unfortunately) pretty foreign to the web tier. Wicket has more in common with Swing than JSP or Struts or JSF. But most people are used to thinking of web applications in terms of JSP and Struts and JSF, so they tend to color Wicket in shades from that palette.
