I disagree strongly with the writer's opinion, but the discussion is good. Also let's remember that in the OOXML "standard" that Mickeysoft is trying to get passed makes constant reference to these currently closed file formats, its one of the major sticking points about an "Open" standard. So, it isn't about "Open", its about more typical M$ misdirection.
