Executable images created for the DOS/Wintel environment, using the GNU GCC compilers and language standards (but not linking to the Win32 API), are subject to failure (or performance degradation) when executed in Microsoft Windows Vista, because Vista arbitrarily restricts the memory space for the GCC executable to 32 MB (33,554,432 bytes).

FUD of the worst kind. He's using a very old compiler and jumping to conclusions that are not only unsupported, but don't make any sense (how on earth could Vista figure out what compiler was used to create an executable!!!). This was linked to on Channel9 and shot down horribly.

It is good news for someone useing vista who has time to burn could confirm these claims. but as I know, there this wont actually cause many people problems if any at all.

I have tested few applications compiled with GCC. No problems. Original post may be caused by local hardware or software compatibility issues.
