Several upcoming popular future programming languages including some on top of JVM and CLR ( IronRuby, Scala , Clojure, Groovy, F#, Erlang, Haskell ..) . Well One of the advices in “The Pragmatic Programmer” says: "Learn at least one new language every year", in order to be a good hacker....But one should be careful of choosing what language to learn rather than just learning up new syntax for same things.

I wouldn't describe Erlang (1986) or Haskell (1990) as young.

Yup even i mentioned it has been around for more than 20 years but its the recent emergence of this language that has made possible its move into main stream of languages.....( for concurrency ) ..as u know..
