Indian IT majors are eyeing life sciences as the new growth opportunity ($700-billion market globally)
Satyam Computer Services, India's fourth-largest software and services firm, recently launched its lifesciences centre of excellence (CoE) to provide software solutions to pharmaceutical firms. The center will start with a dozen-point solutions, including research informatics, knowledge management in R&D and RFID implementation. "The pharma industry is a $700-billion market globally."
