With a view to simplifying digital advertising and creating a larger "ecosystem" connecting advertisers and publishers, Microsoft has announced the launch of its digital advertising platform in India. The platform is called Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions (MDAS).

It has already started work for

  • social networking site Facebook,
  • investment portal EquityMaster,
  • HDFC Securities, and
  • Bollywood Hungama

The overall digital advertising market in India is valued at nearly Rs 500 crore, and is growing at an annual rate of 60%. Its contribution to the total advertising market in India is just 1%, but Microsoft anticipates this contribution would go up to match the levels in developed countries like United Kingdom and the United States where it contributes 12% to the total advertising market.

Microsoft also unveiled its mobile advertising initiatives. Mr. Jaspreet Bindra, India country manager, online services, Microsoft, said, "With around 200 million mobile phones, advertising solutions on mobiles will help expand the advertiser base."

I was there yesterday. The event was magnificent. It was made even better by Marco Tempest the virtual magician. The event was just great!

That's great to know. Sunil, would you like to post some of the pictures of this event on your blog or something for us? Then, post a link to those pictures back over here on this page? That will be awesome! Good to know first-hand from someone like you about this event.

Best regards,
Abhay Bakshi

Hi Abhay,

Will surely do that. Need to get hold of the photographer/videographer for the pics. Should take a week for him to get it processed as well.  I will surely post pics.
